My Family Ties and History
|
|
|
|
I've been divorced since 1979,
with two children (girl first and then a boy) but both are grown and living on their own in KC, MO. We don't communicate much
anymore since they have the religious preferences of being Jehovah's Witnesses as their mother was...and although it can probably
go without saying (but Ill say it anyways) we don't see eye to eye). Both my parents have passed though, so as far as
family ties are, I have few. Theres an uncle whos a retired Chaplin and his wife (my aunt), in SW Missouri, and we keep fairly
close ties there. There are couple cousins too, but Mother Nature sorta' has her own time clock with life and as things go,
a lot of my relation (as too with yours probably) have passed on as time went by. Yet, what I do have left I love dearly and
feel blessed with.

My Friends
|
|
|
|
I've got some good friends, and
they are usually pretty much life-longers. That means either that they have known me for about "all my life", or they will
"probably" go on knowing me for the rest of my life:). They vary from gender and occupations and lifestyles. They remain kewell
and easy going even during problems. They aren't the domineering type either, but they all have something in common. They
don't have to:
Take something in order to gain
seek to gain by anothers misfortune
steal in order to
attain, or be dishonest just to win
see someone fall in order to laugh
use harsh words or loud voices to
make a point
insist you see things "their" way in order to agree with "your" viewpoint
shout to be heard, or
win a fight to feel important
play their version of "Soap Operas Daily" to enjoy relationships
fool around when
they already have a partner, (same as above)
put you down to pick themselves up
be evil to feel strong, or
do wrong to feel right...
do drugs to be high
insist they come out on top to be happy
or demand retribution
to make a wrong a right...
they are all pretty much like that.
Why are "all" my friends like that? Because I
"DON"T" have any friends who "are not", see?:) No one's perfect...but we all know we should never quit trying...we might not
know God face to face, but He made us all with the idea in mind to do good in our lives and be good to one another, no matter
"how" hard it seems! When it was said that "God helps those who help themselves", we shoudln't forget that He's watching
to see just what we might be helpin' ourselves too, and just which book we decide to be using for a rule book. |
It's an old "work area" for tinkering... |

Not much, but it's just an area of my life that's the real me... |

Its not a hot rod, but if it isn't a Ferrari I don't care...getting
there fast is a bit hyper for me anyways. :D
So in other words it will fit my needs for quite some time to come and I can upgrade to just about
whatever I have to as I go.
I'm on a disability at present for a blood clot which I suffered in my left inner thigh in April of '98
and subsequent thick blood conditions. I am slowly gaing in the direction of obtaining my AAS in Networking with Informational
Technologies as side courses as much as I can fit them in at OTC (no not officer's training whatever:) but at Ozarks
Technical College here in Springfield Missouri. I had planned on going to college ever since the clot in my leg, but it seems
there were always things (locale, too expensive for Grants and such) that got in the way. Now though, the path is set, I've
got some college behind me and waitign for classes to role around again in June (lost out this spring due to surgery). I just
take it as easy as I can and keep trying to grow on to the forward...nothing of value is acquired without the patience and
effort that is worthy of it in the first place. I consider my computer more than a toy, but also a tool which will allow me
to better my future and also help me through my future academic goals. Someone once asked me about my age and school and I
replied, "At 45, whether I get my degree at 47, 48 or 49 doesn't matter much...I'm still staring 50 right in the butt and
its doesn't make that
big of a difference at my age does it!?!?" hehehe |
